Just found some yummy pics of the upcoming “Spiderman 3” movie, at “Pink is the New Blog“. Here’s a tidbit of it :

Are you drooling yet?!?
Apparently it’s the production image for the movie.

Here’s the poster we’ve been seeing all over the news and trailers :

It’s a bit of a shame though. I know the new Venom costume looks cool and all of that, but still, here’s what I remember growing up with :

Half of me is looking forward to the movie; but the Spidey fan side of me is skeptic. The past movies haven’t exactly followed the timeline of Spidey’s life – I mean, where’s Gwen Stacy, the Black Widow, and all the villains? Plus, the Goblin saga is more complicated that what’s on the silver screen, and the Sandman character in the comics differ from the movie version.
Having 3 villains in “Spiderman 3”- Sandman, Green Goblin, and Venom – just seems so cluttered; perhaps the thought of losing Tobey after the third Spidey movie was so traumatizing that they just had to squeezed all the villains into one last possible movie to milk us of our cash? We’ll see what happens in May. It looks like they’re sticking to the correct storyline for Venom’s – albeit a few loose strands (pardon the pun).

Here’s a tour of where the costumes, special effects equipments and weapons are kept, found at the movie blog.

And now I leave you with a video found on YouTube, showing clips from the movie and the trailer – plus some commentaries from the stars. (Look out for Sam Raimi – it’s been ages since the days of Xena and Hercules, but dang, doesn’t he look like his brother, “Joxer“?)

Update: “Spiderman 3” gets released in Malaysia on May 3rd, a day before the U.S. Release date of May 4th. Why? Apparently Sony might be pushing for the Asian market, but according to Variety.com, Japan gets the world premier on April 16th and the release date for the 3rd Spidey flick on May 1st. Also, the Japanese Golden Week starts on the April 29th (one week of holiday, imagine that), and probably to avoid clashing with the other summer blockbusters – “Pirates of the Caribbean 3” and “Shrek 3“. Feeling spoiled for choice? Better book your tickets a week in advance – I know I’m going to catch all three!

Update 25/04/2007: I’m such a lazy-ass for not updating this. Malaysia gets to watch Spidey 3 in cinemas on 1st May, along with a bunch of other countries. After some shifting around, U.S. gets a swing at the movie on 30th April. Click here for my review on the web crawler’s third film.

i’m a spidey fan though i don follow the comic so much….jz those in The Star. 😛

so far, spiderman movies have been showing some very good fighting scenes n special effects…..so i hope that they can keep up the good work (though some ppl might find the effects kinda fake…but well…u’re not supposed to think how realistic it is 😛 )

stuffing 3 villains into 1…hope they wont jz skip pass them due to time / budget problem. some movies intend to stuff too much inside 2 hours.

2. Handsome Jon - March 8, 2007

I can’t wait to watch Spiderman 3 too. I really enjoyed the last 2 movies and my only hope is that it won’t turn out to be a major dissapointment.

Just like Matrix and X-Men. Their first 2 movies were good but their third was a major dissapointment, especially X-Men 3, with the extremely modified storyline and the death of Professor X… Sheesh!!

3. Alvin - March 9, 2007

Prof X didn’t really die 😛
What I don’t like about X3 is that they tried to stuff too many elements of the comic into one single LAST STAND.

So…it was kinda ‘hasty’ movie….not like X2.

I have a funny feeling that we’re going to get 15 minutes of the new Green Goblin, 20 minutes of the Sandman, – while the rest of the movie focuses on Venom and the nasty, grumpy Parker.
But seriously – Topher Grace as Eddie Brock??? *sigh*

5. Alvin - March 11, 2007

The sandman character looks cool…so is Venom. Be gone, Green Goblin ! i don rlei like that character.

6. Gallivanter - March 28, 2007

Spiderman 4 (if there is one) would be the best of ’em all if they introduce Carnage and continue with Venom! Apparently Tobey Macguire has had enough with it….the bugger better do a 4th one!

7. Jordi Rosa - March 30, 2007

I remember those good days when Venom was Venom no that kind of dwarf in a no white logo big lips no tongue black suit. Raimi-Venom till now is an impostor.
_____________________________________________________

I think the Raimi-Venom is a great deception for all that Venom fans. It seems Sam Raimi had an accurate perception about what thing Venom should be for Spiderman Universe. Unfortunately, in its very own creativity, Sam eliminated all the symbolisms that many drawers, despite small changes, knew to preserve.

GREAT WHITE LOGO IN CHEST. Contrast between white and black means danger, “be careful”, poisson. Just look at the nature, any bug with this color pattern is saying “hey, buddy. Stay away”. Instead, Raimi-Venom has a tiny grey spider, barely visible.

GREAT TEETH ALWAYS EXPOSED. This means aggression and violence at extreme and permanent. Is not Venom this, always?. Instead, Raimi-Venom has a couple of big lips covering mostly time tiny teeth. Just look at the production photos. I hope he is smiling or yawning all the movie, that’s will be the only way to see that teeth.

HEIGHT. Size matters. It means power and implicit domination. Instead, Raimi-Venom is almost a dwarf.

GREAT TONGUE. Sadism and cruelty, they are basic in Venom’s personality. If it has, Raimi-Venom doesn’t shows anything like that.

After this, any doubt that Raimi-Venom is a great deception?

Alvin : Preference varies from one fan to another I guess. The Green Gob was a staple character, but somehow in the movie franchise you had a psycho in a metal suit, which spoilt it a bit.

Gallivanter : Hell, yeah, Carnage! But if they pull the Scarlet Spider crap in future movies, I’ll be hell pissed.

Jordi Rosa : You sound like a bigger fan than me. And yeah, the deception is made clear just by having a scrawny Topher Grace play Venom. Need one say more? Bleh. My late grandma could probably take him mano a mano
